NFC AUTHENTICATION

NFC Tag

Some Hellstar pieces are produced with a small NFC chip sewn into the garment — a contactless authentication tag you can read with your phone. One tap, and the verification page opens automatically.

Not every item has an NFC tag

Hellstar introduced NFC chip authentication with Capsule 10 (2024) and continued it in the drops that followed. Pieces from earlier capsules (1–9) and most pre-2024 production don’t carry a chip. So whether a piece has an NFC tag depends on which collection and batch it was made in.

In our catalog, items that come with a working NFC chip are marked NFC. If you don’t see this label on a product page, the piece doesn’t include one — and that’s not a sign of a fake. Many genuine Hellstar items were produced before NFC was introduced, or simply belong to batches that weren’t tagged.

Either way, every item we list — NFC or not — passes our manual authentication before going on sale.

Common
questions.

Does every Hellstar item have an NFC chip?
No. Hellstar started embedding NFC chips with Capsule 10 in 2024 and has continued it in subsequent drops. Pieces from earlier capsules (1–9) and most pre-2024 production don’t carry a tag — that’s not a sign of a fake, just a sign of an older release.
How do I know if an item has NFC?
Check the product page in our catalog — items with a working chip are marked NFC. You can also browse the categories below to filter only NFC-tagged pieces.
What does the verification show?
Once your phone reads the chip and you open the link, the verification page displays the item’s collection and authenticity status. No personal data is stored.
Does it work on iPhone?
Yes. iPhone XS and newer read NFC tags automatically — no app required, just hold the top of the phone against the label. Most Android phones from 2018 onward work the same way once NFC is enabled in settings.
The chip won’t read. Is the item fake?
Not necessarily. The chip can be damaged by harsh washing or simply need a different angle. Try holding the phone slowly against the tag with NFC enabled. If it still won’t read, contact us — every item we sell is authenticated manually before listing.
Where is the chip located on the garment?
Usually inside the care label or sewn into an inner seam. On tees it’s typically near the side seam, on hoodies near the inner hem or hood, on sweatpants inside the waistband. Look for the small NFC symbol on the label.
Will the chip stop working after washing?
Normal washing is fine. NFC tags are designed to survive standard machine cycles. Avoid high temperatures, harsh detergents, and ironing directly over the label to keep it working long-term.
